Note that the Stanley Gibbons colour description is "Grey-Black" as per the earlier printing in 1923. This intense black colour comes from the later 1926 printing. The 1923 printing was of 243 sheets of 60, whereas the 1926 "Black" printing was of only 105 sheets of 60, thus making the number of extant varieties extremely small in comparison.
